Need Hosting Advice VPS/Semi-Dedi

My 1 month old site fap2this.com seems to have already grown out of shared hosting.

My365Host was kind enough to provide me with my current usage stats:

With my site only being 1 month old I can only assume it is just going to get bigger and can probably expect to be at 5k uniques a day by the end of March. So it is time to upgrade hosting.

The site has no ad revenue to speak of. I have BLA banner up top but that is only to fill the huge empty space up there. I make anywhere from 15-20 a week from hotfile, but that is not enough to pay for a dedi.

So my options are VPS and Semi Dedicated. Semi-Dedi seems to be just like shared except with less clients on the server, better system specs, and is managed like shared hosting.

VPS seems to be a do it all yourself type of deal. Which would be a learning experience for me since I have no experience whatsoever managing one. Before wordpress I was using blogger hosting so I am a noob basically.

There are some companies that will help with the initial setup but the montly cost of cpanel is a big turnoff.

I can't trust my own judgement on this since I have no experience so would appreciate your input.

ye get a vps and when the sites start using up more traffic then go for a dedi

or you could share a vps with a friend that way less money is wasted

They money is not an issue at the VPS price mark. It's more getting everything installed that has me worried a bit.

Everyone is picking VPS. Is there a reason to skip over Semi Dedi? Too much power for what I need? Not enough?

No one is recommending semi dedi probably because no one has tried it.

In personal opinion i do not trust semi dedi's. You would be better off with VPS as i had told you before, and if you get a decent host they should be able to install everything for you, or atleast help you out since you don't know what you will be doing. Not only that, but if you have a decent host you shouldn't have any need of knowing about VPS or managing, etc because you shouldn't have any problems.

Get ahold of the contact i gave you and he should get you settled in just fine even without alot of knowledge about VPS.
