    Default 500- Internal Server Error

    Hi

    I am a n00b in website management.

    I have bought a domain @ namecheap and 1TB hosting @ gearserve but once i check my domain its showing

    I have installed WP on this and once i access domain/wp its showing 500 ISE.

    Does it take 48 hours to updates ?

    I have followed this thread to create by website.

    upto step 2 everything is done but i am hopeless in going forward please help.

    500 server error means the something wrong with the setup.

    check the server logs and it will tell you.

    try deleting .htaccess ..

    while going to filemanager via cpanel, just tick on show .(dot) files .. or something like that and you will be able to see it

    chmod properly, if you haven't yet

    Have you installed wordpress correctly? After your transfered the files to your public_html via ftp, did you setup the admin account?

    deleting .htacess is safe ?

    WP was installed with softaculous.

    ofc it is .. if you are afraid then just download the file and delete it

    so if you feel something goes wrong you can upload it back .. also .htaccess is generated automatically once it's deleted ..
