    Question Getting 500 Internal Server Error when upgrading DLE

    Hello,

    My site was running DLE 9.0. I was going to upgrade it to 9.4 After uploaded all the files, I get 500 Internal Server Error. I didn't change anything. If I rename .htaccess to htaccess.txt, I can access to html file but still get 500 Internal Server Error (Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.) when accessing php file.

    I'm thinking the problem is I replace old php.ini with new php.ini which included in DLE 9.4 pack.

    I'm running my site on VPS.

    Could someone help me?

    Check the error_log file
    Generally its created in the root folder where the file exist
    I upgraded to DLE 9.4 from 9.0 yesterday only and its working perfectly fine.

    By mistake, I removed that file with php.ini file too. I re-created 2 files but no log was written.

    Could you send me your php.ini in the root folder?

    Because off 500 Internal Server Error, I can't access upgrade files

    Try to Restart your httpd server by ssh

    Code:
    service httpd restart
    To see location of error_log, find this (similar) line:

    Code:
    error_log = mylocation/shit.log
    Then see the error there. If that line doesn't exist, then add it.
