Now that's fucked up... still a crime though. Either way, recent (more like year old) case from my country: 30 year old guy raped a woman in her early 50s and he got sentenced to 3 years last month. So, they needed one whole year to sentence the guy and still they couldn't get it right, considering the fact that all prisons are currently full and those that aren't have no budget to pay the guards - he probably walks the streets as I'm writing this. What I'm trying to say is that there should be a big difference between crimes like rape and these petty crimes like illegal obtaining of software and media in general. Cases like this make you hate their law...

The UK prison system can hold at maximum approximately 80,000 people give or take a bit, now at last estimate there were over 7 million illegal downloaders in the UK alone so that is a short fall of about 6,920,000!
