Its been up for just over a year now.
It gets around 17000 - 22000 unique hits a day

to be honest, 23k members in 1 year is really low.Maybe you dint work hard to get your site going.

It doesnt really depend on how many members you have ...
I didnt work on it much for the first 4 months.
After that I started spending a lot of time on it. When I made registering essential to view threads, I was getting 300-700 new members a day. At that rate I could have got 200,000 members in a year. But I made the site fully open to guests. Now I get 100 new members a day.
Getting a minimum of 250 people online at any one time is good in my opinion ...
So ye, it does annoy me a lot when someone says I didnt work hard on my site because I do. Maybe I didnt at the start.
Comparing it to your site, you got 167 members in 10 days. Thats around 17 members a day. I think me getting 100 members a day is better than 17 ...
