Question Is Web Scraping is legal

Is web scraping or data extraction from other websites is legal or not? like extracting data from gamespot, imdb or from any other site and use it on a personal site.

It says under each website TOS, can their content be re-used, and, if can, how.

Web Scraping is never legal at all.
it makes your site useless for GOOGLE SEO and the max you can do is to credit the source from which you got the content or else it becomes a legal hassle for you.

It is legal to scrape information. It is not legal to use it as your own ie autoblogs.

If nothing is stated in their TOS on how their content can be used, then it's legal.

Majority have an RSS Feed and/or API therefore this is a type of "Legal Scraping" as they're providing the services for you to use them.

However, Some may require a API Key and if abused too much they may ultimately remove your key, if it's public - depends on the restrictions on how they deal with such issues.

You mean then its illegal ? If ways to use someone others material are not stated, that doesn't mean you can freely use it.
