I would like to suggest you to do work with some established company for 2-3 months by which you will get to know about Types of problems faced in hosting , troubleshooting , Installation/Un-installation..and little bit experience.On internet many people have Money,but only few can do suceceeded in this field , only by the reason ...KNOWLEDGE.

Knowledge and experience is the main Thing,Get it!! and then you business will go wwwrrroooommmmmmmm...........

You need $$$ .. a few thousand to invest in the initial hardware and setup. A few million for national advertising campaigns. And a few million to keep aside, should some shit happen.

Thing is first get some cheap ass vps to start learning about servers. Second thing I would suggests is defining some goals you want to reach (uptime, profit, ...) , then for each goal think carefully about how you are planning to achieve that.
