Facebook connect , msql help

im trying to install YAY ANOTHER FACEBOOK BRIDGE for vbulletin 4.0.7. it clearly states msql 5 is strongly recommended, the problem is i only have mysql 4 standard on my server. my hosting company is phurix.co.uk. is there a way i can upgrade the mysql database? or would i need to contact my hosting provider?
