error in cpanel 11.28.42

for all hosters

if you recently upgraded cpanel to latest version (11.28.42)

you will notice this error on Update Preferences in WHM> Main >> Server Configuration>>Update Preferences

[a fatal error or timeout occurred while processing this directive] [a  fatal error or timeout occurred while processing this directive] [a  fatal error or timeout occurred while processing this directive] [a  fatal error or timeout occurred while processing this directive]plugin  error - CPMisc: plugin not found

to fix this until cPanel fix it in their next Release do the following :

login to SSH as root

edit /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/templates/updateconf.tmpl with VI or NANO

and remove the Line 2 which contains :

[% USE CPMisc -%]

moral of the story, don't update right away. Wait for bigger hosting companies to do it first then try it out

They've been reporting problems with this upgrade for weeks too..
