KWWH alexa?

Alexa get's it's info and data from people who have installed the alexa toolbar. The problem is not many people install the toolbar or browser extension. The people who generally install it are young people who are good with computers. As that's exactly the type of person who visits KWWH it has an inflated alexa rank while a site that gives information about pensions would have an extremely low rank as most of it's visitors wouldn't have it installed. A typical warez site is someplace in the middle.

I had a website with only about 200 hits a day aimed at webmasters yet it had an alexa of 40k while another site I had who's traffic was mostly Google and from noobs had 1.5k uniques a day but only an alexa of 300k. This shows how inaccurate alexa is.

The problem is it's hard to track websites. Quantcast does an ok job of tracking USA traffic to sites but their aren't any decent global tools which is why alexa is so popular even with it's faults.

i hate alexa but still every day i check alexa atleast for 5 times :-\

and i look for alexa ranking b4 browsing any website :-s

Alexa isnt 100% accurate but still its useful for me
