A sitemap enables crawlers to visit your website's all urls at one place and it helps them to crawl the all urls. So it increases the indexing probability of your web pages in Google. However, it won't make any side effect on your website(if it is is properly interlinked) if you don't add a sitemap.

Shit man, Google wont give any useful result for such a Subject oriented query. And that was not needed here. He asked for genuine idea from members

OnTopic : SiteMap(if submitted) will enable google to crawl more pages of ur site & would make ur site more relative in results.
