Post Shared Hosting Php Memory Limit

I have problem with my wordpress blog i have 12 active plugins and when i try to activate another one i get fatal error out of memory so i searched google for that error and found out that happends because host limits php memory to 32MB. Asked host if he could increase it but they said no and that i should move to vps if i want more memory... but i don't see reason to move to vps when i have only 1k visitors daily on my site. So my question would be: Is there any shared hosting that allows me to use more then 32MB php memory or they all limit it to that amount?

Who is your host ? They sound "n00bish" by default the mem limit should be 32 if they are running a company they should at least raise it to 128mb how ever they may be leaving it default setting simply because they are not wanting clientele raping there web server. The more plugins your runing the more strain it may put on there hosting environment pending on there setup.

    Regards,

The php memory limit should be a bit more than 32mb for slightly bigger sites.

We have kept php memory limit to 96 mb at the moment, but we do increase it according to the need of the customer.

Good luck with finding a new host!

We keep it at 128M for shared hosting servers. It's already a lot, if you require more you really should get a VPS.

You may have little traffic, but some of your WP plugins are clearly not optimized and use too much resources for a shared hosting.

Agreed, php memory consuming sites, will most likely be bloated or misconfigured.

128mb is for shared standart, so move out from that host
as for wp just disable all plugins, then download plugin for memory monitor, and enable one after other, monitoring how much plugin uses will help you to find out which plugin you can change by alternative that would consume less php memory.

32mb is standard for webhosts. However we are running at 128mb.

I think there is a small code you need to add to your wp-config to fix this.
