Default How to identify "Lag" of a webhosting company?

    Hello,
Just wondering what is your technique/method to identify if there is any "lag" in any website hosting where you didn't host your website. Also how can you be sure that the hosting company is providing/Promising actually 99.9% uptime if you don't host your site there yet?

There are sites that ping a webserver every minute.

may be registering a free account on pingdom.com and then adding hosted site on their shared server (I mean the host company you plan to use them) will help you to identify the uptime.

you will need to wait at least 1 month for full accurate stats

Even sites like pingdom provide false information,

Per say if the user has a virtual-server if the primary node has a controlled firewall it can provide inaccurate information to ie pingdom and basakwards to a dedicated server if your running a firewall if say if csf is on the high setting it will block certain connections.
