Default Maxtor External HD Not Recognised

So, got a new computer today and go to plug in my EHD but it's not recognised in any of the usb ports and the driver is up to date - any ideas whats wrong? My webcam worked straight away after updating the driver.

for starters if its a new pc, (not a clone) it should come with all drivers up to date, if not for some reason it doesnt, then go to their website, which is now seagate.com and download the specific driver... here is the direct link

    http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/index.js...001a48090aRCRD

choose ure EHD and download that driver... should solve it
All right everyone, line up alphabetically according to your height.

Theres one problem with that when I need to put the autorun file into the maxtors folder, there is no maxtors folder due to it not recognising the device? lol

    32-bit Operating Systems ONLY
Does this mean I need a new EHD that is compaitable with 64bit system?

Try HDD on some other PC to see if it is working.
Does it turns on when you plug it, or is 'dead' ?
