Google should see the same content as guests otherwise you risk getting banned from Google.

The fact that its a risk and that it is against Google's policy is true. However, getting your site banned from Google because of cloaking is very unlikely. Especially when your site doesn't have huge traffic. I think cloaking can provide a nice traffic boost for smaller sites. Once your site starts growing and getting good traffic/activity I wouldn't risk cloaking anymore though.
