I've got 10 connected to this PC which equals 16TB of space, http://i.imgur.com/hZUyx.png Then I got another 8 2TB drives to fit in these mediasonic 4 enclosures I got, then I have six 2TB to go into my HTPC and then FINALLY I got 20 2TB drives waiting to go in my fileserver which will house all 20 drives using unraid or another method of mounting so many drives and keeping it over a network :) So how many drives do you got? lol i just have 1x2tb and another 1x1tb on my pc
and 2 extrenals with 2tb each.

I would check out some network drive/enclosure options, that seems to be the way to go.

I don't particularly like threads which are a blatant attempt at bragging, but here goes anyway:

I have 3 HDDs in this pc, one in each of my old PCs, 3 external HDDs, 3 external 2.5" HDDs and a couple of old laptop HDDs that i've not tried out.

The 3 in my PC, I make full use of (mostly for code) and the external ones are generally for backups, certain downloads, ISOs (e.g. OSes), etc.

P.S. congrats on wasting your money on storage you'll never use to it's full potential.

...Way to be an ass? It's not so much bragging as seeing if others use alot of storage as I do. As for saying I'll never use all my storage I am pretty sure I will, I currently got 14TB full of HD movies, a list of about 300 more to get off usenet as well so round that to maybe 20TB and then all my games around 10TB and that maxes out my file server already.

Edit: Also I like to keep dual backup's of stuff I have in storage incase something ever went wrong, raid is only going to help so much, and what if I'm rebuilding a drive and a second one goes? Bang all my data is gone for ever then, so it pays to keep a back up.

Anyways, for my file server here's what I've got ready for it,

1x Antec Twelve hundred 12x5.25 bays
4x super micro 5HD's in 3 5.25"bay converters - http://ncix.com/products/?sku=30786&...ure=SuperMicro
2x http://ncix.com/products/?sku=37999&...ure=SuperMicro to connect all the hard drives.
1x any 775 socket motherboard
1x 8GB ram
1x Q6600
1x Corsair Professional Series Gold AX850 CMPSU-850AX 850W ATX Fully Modular 80PLUS Gold Power Supply - got this for $130 on sale
1x Lexar jump drive (for unraid to boot on)
And a few other goodies for it

Also with the case im going to have to get the mini "selves" cut out cause they will be in the way, the case itself weighs like 30-40 pounds and I somewhat have trouble carrying it...I think something else is in the box honestly cause I can lift my 80 pound dog easier then this big bulky case lol...but yeah building this is going to be very fun
