Well if they want to really get you they can contact your Gov't and see if they can cooperate and bring the case over to your country or bring you back to USA, If I remember correctly I think this is how it works if the govt decides to cooperate

Reading between the lines on this, it's not surprising that people with DMCA's are trying to take things further when you see, even here, that people are ignoring up to 300 DMCA's a week. You only need a client with enough $$$ and someone who understands how it all works to start turning the screws. Even trying to hide offshore doesn't help because as others have mentioned most people leave a massive paper trail or don't know what they're doing. Take a look at the recent Filesonic hacked accounts mess to get a measure.
