Dedicated server for VPS hosting

Hi, I need a server that can easly handle 10-20 VPSes. I found a package at Worldstream.nl and think it looks good:

2x Intel Xeon 5506 2.13GHz
24 GB DDR3 RAM
500 GB 7.200 RPM
10 TB Traffic p/m
for 150 Euro monthly + 10 euro for 1Gbit uplink (I don't have to pay VAT)

Does anyone know about a good location in US, Germany, NL, UK etc.. for under 195 dollar / 150 euro?

Should have over 12Gb ram and 500Gb space (Good if it have 2-4 HDDs so I can run RAID 10) And a 1Gbit upline would be good!

5506 is old processor, try to look for new model

I/O will be the bottleneck. You can hardly run 10-20 active virtual servers on a single SATA2 drive.

Thats why I am looking after 2-4 diskes so I can run RAID10.

If you want to run RAID10 you must have 4 drives, not 2, 3 or 4. 4 is a must for RAID10.

If I have 2 HDDs, what kind of RAID should I use when I am going to setup VPSes?

hetzner.de new E3 CPUs model. if you can pay their setup fee. the monthly price is very cheap

Raid 0 Fast HDD
Raid 1 Mirroring

You can setup Raid1 for redundancy, if the data is important to you. Or, you could create Raid0 setup for faster disk I/O but no data redundancy.

I'd recommend you to go with at least 4 drives in Raid10, because it is worth it and you will get both redundancy and performance increase, because it is Raid 1 and 0 combined.
