proxyjunction.blogspot.comThe DLL packet.dll is an essential function found in the Netgroup Packet Filter (NPF) for Microsoft Windows. It also provides a layer to access low-level functionalities in Win32-specific API used for capturing and sending packets.
Author: Microsoft Corporation
Part Of: Microsoft Windows operating system
Common Path: C:\ Windows\ System32\ packet.dll
seems like the file should be in system32 folder but in your case its in windows folder
sounds suspicious ! try a scan with eset nod32 or kaspersky (i guess you already tried kasper)

if yes remember this type of virus come from those
anyway there is a chance for this to be clean too , check in system32 if the same file is there for this you will have to go2 folder options and uncheck hide system files
also install nauber security task manager and run it then see if it shows any red process on top if yes post a screenshot here

wpcap.dll and packet.dll are files made Microsoft and normally reside in the system32 folder (which yours don't), from what I have read it could have been installed when you installed the K-Lite Codec Pack so in future make sure to pay particular attention to what is actually being installed and remove options for toolbars etc.
Select them for removal and if MalwareBytes asks you to reboot do so straight away, once that has been done please do the following;
1. Use Internet Explorer and go to Eset Online Scan
2. Click the button "Eset Online Scanner" to start the scan.
3. Tick the box "YES, I accept the Terms of Use" and press the "Start" button.
4. Install the ActiveX control if it asks you to do so.
5. Place a check mark next to "remove found threats" and "scan archives"
6. Now click "Advanced settings"
7. Place a check mark beside the following;
- Scan for potentially unwanted applications.
- Scan for potentially unsafe applications.
- Enable Anti-Stealth technology.
8. Now press "Start"
The scan will now commence and may take some time depending on how big your hardrive is and how many files you have stored on it so please be patient.
Once the scan has been completed please use Notepad to open the logfile located at C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt and copy the entire contents of the log in your next reply.

Simple, you got virus on the other drives of your Hard Disk.
My suggestion, clean install Windows 7 completely over again on Drive C,
Dont use any apps or files from other drives.
Fresh download the latest Bitdefender Total Security or GData.
Install Malwarebytes & Update.
Do all these with freshly downloaded files via internet.
Remember, you must keep the files on the other drives untouched, i mean never click on the other drives until this is complete
Do a scan with Malwarebytes, and the AV you installed on those other drives,
Remove those viruses and vola, your done![]()
And yes, if you dont want the data on any of your partitions on your HDD, then format everything and fresh install![]()
- Simplest way
