well if its a flood it could be server issues but lucky you can fix it try this :

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Email Options -> Use Mailqueue System

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Message Searching Options -> Automatic Similar Thread Search

Admin CP -> Forums & Moderators -> Forum Manager -> Edit Forum -> Index New Posts in Search Engine

if not resolved re-upload the script files cause sometimes that will solve it but also plugins (.XML) write/modify styles, create database tables , and more so if not solved try removing plugins or restore your database to when it was all good ok hope this works for you
