Well if you think that, then all the hotels & restaurants copy each other if they provide the same menu (with different price tag, though) ?

But many of the points were right. RapidShare did introduce the points systems and the uploaders used to convert the 10k points to 1 month premium and sell it for 3-4$ on forums. So it was like the same thing, they upload, they earn money, but just in a different fashion.

Other than that, everything comes to a same point.

And what I noticed that most popular filehosts have always the same story why they become popular. RapidShare was the most popular due to increasing popularity among downloaders (they haven't had other alternative as practically every link was on this host) and uploaders - because RapidShare implemented some benefits, you could redeem your earned points to free premium account. No, I know that copying of others' ideas is a need to go into the business. There is nothing bad in it. But you must notice that everybody who just copy and copy from others never stand out from the crowd. They have customers, sure they are, but they are not special. That's a point.

As to the hotels & restaurants - maybe they copy from themselves, some things just need to be copied, but there are also some other things that are invented by themselves and it brings them popularity or they are stable and trusted and it brings people to them (to compare, see Uploaded, Deposit - nothing new, the same things like any other filehost, but both of these factor I have mentioned have influence on the fact that people use them and everybody's happy).
