Those crimes happen when people are on drugs such as alcohol, meth, crack, etc. Majority of the time they don't happen because they are on the drug they happen because they are trying to get money for those drugs.

And it's barely illegal, in California and other places you can easily get a medical marijuana card which gives an even greater choice on strains and what not. Give it 2 more years and I bet it will be legal in AT LEAST BC, and California.
