vBulletin emailing me
First Email:
Code:Hello, It has come to our attention that your copy of vBulletin is being used on multiple sites illegally. As per the license agreement each license permits you to run a single installation of the software. Your license is currently powering forums on the following sites: http://www.xsaimex.com/ http://www.howcanix.com/forum/ http://www.warezhaven.org/ These sites must be removed, or be powered by their own license within 28 days or you risk your license being permanently revoked. In this eventuality, appropriate action may be taken by our copyright enforcement agency in accordance with DMCA rules. You can view the license agreement at: http://www.vbulletin.com/order/license_agreement.php Note: It is your responsibility to protect your info and files. We can only make our decision based on whether or not a license is being used illegally, not how it happened. I replied saying I deleted howcanix, warezhaven has a license & xsaimex isn't mine, I just set it up for a friend
their reply:
Code:Additionally you are also distributing nulled vBulletin warez on your forum. All vBulletin warez should be removed from your site within 48 hours (!!!) or you risk your license being permanently revoked. In this eventuality, appropriate action may be taken by our copyright enforcement agency in accordance with DMCA rules. Code:Hello, You installed it for a friend against the license agreement. It is up to you to take care that this is resolved. You could try asking him to remove it again. You are the owner of the files he is using. Note: It is your responsibility to protect your info and files. We can only make our decision based on whether or not a license is being used illegally, not how it happened. Please provide me with an admin login to warezhaven so i can verify that there is no more vBulletin warez on the site.
My reply:
Code:First things first before I going making people I don't know admin xsaimex <- this is no longer in my possession and I didn't realise I was breaking any rules as I bought vBulletin once, of course I understood if I wanted another forum I would have to purcahse another license but I left that to the owner to deal with I don't have ftp access and I have limited permissions - could I not just get him to delete the license file or something along these lines?; he is 100% not going to delete the site because this isn't his problem so he would not be overly fussed It's pointless me giving you admin permissions to warezhaven.org because if we can't resolve the xsaimex issue im going to get my license revoked either way
Code:It is your responsibility to protect your info and files. We can only make our decision based on whether or not a license is being used illegally, not how it happened. vBulletin will have to be removed from that site or the owner must purchase a license. The unlicensed sites must be resolved within 28 days from the date this ticket was started, the warez on warezhaven.org must be removed AND VERIFIED BY US within 48 hours after this ticket was opened. You still have 24 hoursa to proof that the warez issue is resolved.
First of all he wants to be admin on my site so he can use search?
Second of all, he expects the new admin of xsaimex to roll over and go 'oh sure ill delete the site for you who i bearly know'
Think I am gonna have to go off shore which I really didn't want to doSp32 Reviewed by Sp32 on . vBulletin emailing me First Email: Hello, It has come to our attention that your copy of vBulletin is being used on multiple sites illegally.
