    Default importing 500mb sql file

    Hey,
    Time to get my forum going again.

    I have a 500mb database backup as my last backup of my forum. [Around that size anways].

    What will be the quickest and easiest way of getting this backup imported into my database?

    Note:
    Don't bother saying phpmyadmin!

    Hello Trez login into mysql and type this

    mysql -u username -p dbname < /home/username/path-to-file.sql

    and in a matter of seconds it will be imported

    No problem i hope it helps if you do not have ssh access tell your host to execute what i stated above

    you can also use bigdump.php
    google it

    you can also zip it and reduce the size.
    if you dont have ssh access ..you can try bugdump or mysql dumper

    This is the best way, Im importing a 5gb db this way, takes about 30 mins tho for 5gb.
