Cancer!... Has it affected you?

Hi guys... just thought, while chatting in the CB, that I would make one or two maybe not so interesting but also useless threads! I had cancer last year and lost my tongue because of it! YES! I really did! I went through major surgery that nearly cost me my life but came through it and am still here today thanks to the expertise of a wonderful surgeon and his dedicated team. The 3 months of Chemo and Radiotherapy that followed were the worst of my life! It bought nothing but aches pains, numbness, feelings of guilt, remorse and all sorts! I would not wish that on my worst enemy!
Have you or do you know someone close to you that has had cancer?.... Its hard and doesnt only affect you! It affects those around you! Families are the best support ever!

my uncle was affected.it was non malignant and he survived.chemo for horrible for him too!

Hey guys! Thanks for the sympathy but Im OK! Really! Im just asking about other peoples experiences. But thankyou all anyway for taking the time to reply!

Sadly, most ppl i knew, who had cancer, died!

Yup... thats the sad thing.... my dad died on the 2nd January in a Hospice. Yes! He had cancer too! My mum must have gone through HELL! Im noe doing a charity trek through the Grand Canyon in October for the charity, Marie-Curie Cancer Care. I hope to raise about ?5000 for them. It will be an experience because I have never been toi the USA before!
