i think the USA govt should stop trying to act like the run/own the internet just cause people are sharing the stuff that is made there, they cant control the what goes on and especially the laws of other countries.. (i don't mean to offend and Americans by this)

XmasPresent4Me.comAnd does Columbia have treaties with the USA? I would check before you say no!
The stuff that brought all this about was not made on the internet is was made and the copyright is owned by companies in the USA and the government is protecting the property of it's citizens and corporations.
While the internet is a global asset it does not make it or it's users exempt for laws.

Copyright is a load of BS anyway. It's just made up laws in order for rich companies to make even more money.
The whole idea of making money from eg musical recordings is a relatively new one, and one which, now that we have the internet and ease of copying files is one that might not even last much longer.
Before fats cats invented copyright, art was free and people made art and shared art simply for the love of art.
Greed has made that into an ugly money-making affair.
So, copyright schmopyright!

XmasPresent4Me.com.co is Columbian and have treaties with the US, including criminal and civil.
You can take any position you choose but copyrights are legal and enforceable in most countries, it becomes more enforceable if the company infringed upon has an office in the country of the infringer.
If it was your works being distributed with out compensation you would be screaming you were being robbed ans scammed.
