the header looks nice and clean.. just need a good logo that will flow with the skin.
navbar - make it thinner if possible as it looks unnecessarily big.
for the forums, maybe use a light blue colour, it looks too grey to me.
im not a big fan of sidebars but just remember to keep it simple, dont add too much bullshit.

a link would be much better tbh. you would get better feedback.

Like SJshah said though you definetly need to make the Navbar buttons smaller. I would also suggest making them a different color other than just plain "White" when they aren't selected. It looks a bit dull the way it is now.

Put up a nice banner, get some content and your ready to roll imo.
