I used both i vote for kaspersky Internet security 2010 as it uses less resources. KAV detects more viruses than the other or is saying that it detected.

NAV is resource hungry which slows up your pc. Less detection . Huge updates.

Never had a problem with Avast

Avast = Free..

Free can be good .. can't be good. but most of the time avast won't detect good in my opinion.

I'm on the paid version. I have used the free as well and found it to work awesome.

AVG used to be good back in the day

Used Kaspersky ... computer got infected after 2 weeks

Used Norton ... PC almost died because of the resources

Conclusion : Use Ubuntu

simple ...avira less resources beasty detection and doesnt lag the comp but it gives a lot of false positives

Norton - you're better off using no antivirus at all
Kaspersky - good detection rate, but be prepared to pay for it.

Neither, I prefer NOD32 + Malware Anti Bytes + Microsoft Security Essentials = win!
