Shared Cpanel to VPS, from where to start ?

Hi All, i am also a victim of file sharing sites. Now i want to move back to my Adsense. Till nw i worked on cpanel, dream host panel.

Now i want to move further to any vps to host my sites, but i don't knw anything abt vps. how they send me details, from where to start, what to install.

Any help is much appreciated.

first of all, why would like to move to a vps?
if your site isn't big enough, it's best to stay with shared hosting

to manage vps, you need to learn basic linux commands

There are vps with os installed and cpanel installed. Be sure tho not to get a managed one as they set them up so loose can use all resources before you add your sites.

Initially i was with lunarpages, they suspended my account due to heavy usage. same thing happend with bluehost. Then i tried many more and ended up with dreamhost (2 years back).

Now im back to my sites and started to work on them again. Dreamhost started showin lots n lots of 500 internal errors and i read somewhere that when more visitors comes to my account, they start killing processes in various sites in my account to keep the shared hosting fair for all.

Instead of going again for shared, now i want to start with basic VPS which might be helpful for me in the future.

Any help regarding this is much appreciated.
