How to update CentOS kernel?
Can someone teach me?
I found this tutorial, can I use exactly commands?

that should do!
make sure that you reboot after the upgrade to load new kernel.
Use
uname -r
to find kernel version

root@server [~]# uname -r
2.6.18-274.12.1.el5root@server [~]# uname -a
Linux server.enigmahost.org 2.6.18-274.12.1.el5 #1 SMP Tue Nov 29 13:37:46 EST 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
When I run cat /etc/yum.conf I notice this:
distroverpkg=redhat-release
Is not better to have distroverpkg=centos-release?
Or doesn't matter?
