Hey I was wondering what are the implications if you were to ignore a DMCA notice from takedownpiracy on your website. Is it better to just take down the files and pages (like I am doing) or ignoring the e-mails?

If you want to ignore DMCA mails . Find the location where DMCA reports are ignored.

If you want respect the DMCA reports. Just remove the content which has been reported.
