how to redirect url

I want to redirect a url like this

from: http://domain.com/forums/index.php/xxxxx
to: http://forums.domain.com/index.php/xxxxx

I want to keep the xxxxxx at the end so that it will redirect to the new forum page.

Is there any way to do this.
