why dont you contract some ads...put a wauit time of 30 seconds till download link apperas for free users (as you had before) and make money from ads...30 seconds its a good time and i am sure you get lots of money...its ust an idea wich someone presented few pages back....its a good one i think...

Yes Mates,

Wait time of 30 seconds is good - 45 to 60 seconds may be even better.

Ads are an idea - but don't go too wild with any of them - and, sometimes too many can be too confusing and/overwhelming.

Since yesterday (Saturday) the site has been having issues.

Those issues started out small and were rather infrequent.

However, as of today (Sunday) they are often - and of concern.

Remote Upload is currently working somewhat better .

I'm having problems with Remote URL Upload.

Previous to this past weekend, Remote URL Upload was working great - and that's one of the main reasons I use Filemates.

During the past couple of days RU has been getting more and more difficult - to the point where it sometimes is not working at all.

I realize that most people don't use RU - but if by chance you do, are you having any RU issues?

In closing, would the code writer or webmaster for Filemates please check into this - as well as any bandwidth issues.

Mixed feelings about this... completely agree that free downloaders only use valuable resources, and they should be 'pushed' a bit to buy premium. Also agree that free users should generate some money too.

But I feel that some advertisement program would be better as installing software on their systems, especially as it seems that many anti virus programs report it as a virus/trojan. (btw, I tried it on my linux system, it's just not working ) Pissing of people by installing (possible) virus infected software on their PC doesn't look like the perfect sales argument to me ;-(

I'm not a big fan of fiberupload, but it looks to me that they found a nice mix between advertisement/functionality. Think you should have a look at it.

But if you decide to go on with it, please note clearly on the site that premium users don't have to solve captcha's, now it looks like everyone has to do ...

And for the guy with the statistics, no, I will not run away if it's implemented. If my users are unhappy with it, that's their problem. If sales drop, that's FM's problem, but in that case he will probably stop the program. If it works, everyone will be happy as FM promised us some time ago a PPD program for these downloads. If I want real big money, I will have to work for it, this is just a hobby ;-)
