Google Panda About Popups

Just Wanted to know What google Panda has policy over Popups, I have seen Sites Using them, will it lead to Ban or Not a big deal?

I am bit worried adding popads in my site, that google panda may notice and Block me with these irritating shit,

Need your Suggestions, Particularly MR happy..

Their are two types of popup adverts. Traditional popup adverts are a big no. If you have these you will be penalized. Overlay or floating adverts aren't technically pop up adverts and are different as they are harder to determine. They are usually divs inside the page themselves and therefore not as bad.

One thing to note though is user experience. If you increase your bounce rate or reduce pageviews due to the annoying adverts Google will find out and penalize you that way.

First understand what kind of website Google panda is going to affect.

Website with low quality (Thin content)
Website which works as content farm
Website with useless pages indexed in Google (Same as content farm)
Website with not proper SEO structure
Duplicate content
Too many advertisements
Poor Grammar
Site loading time
SEO over optimization (Black hat SEO)


The pop-up doesn't have any effect. Just make sure that you don't use more than 1 pop-up. Pop-up should be clean and not some spam shit.

If you break any rule by spamming/fake/scam pop-up you might get banned.


Here are some factors you should know about Google panda:

It’s a domain level penalty.
Few low quality posts can drop overall domain ranking.
Google trust quality sites.
Google panda lowers down overall ranking of low quality sites.
On site SEO optimization becomes important.
Quality of post is taken as prime factor for ranking.
Niche based website is better than generic site.
Social bookmarking and promotion works great. Specially Google+1 is very important.
No one has 100% recovered from Panda updates.

Honestly I would just go by rule of thumb. Is it annoying and distracting to the user? Does it lower the level of quality of the overall site? If so.. then don't do it.
