I used for warez sites and have just 500UV per day

What are the specs of the VPS?

What are you using it for?

Your post is basically the same as calling a mechanic and saying my car is broken can you fix it and how much will it cost.

You want a vps, together with cPanel and Softaculous for $20.

500 Unique Visitors can't overload a 1 GB VPS ever unless they are downloading from your VPS. But I believe, there must be a trojan / virus in your VPS which is causing the overload issue. Please have your VPS rechecked for malicious processes.

you can optimize your website to avoid cpu abusing, how much of cpu have you got? are using any panel?

Wordpress is quite heavy from the beginning, without any plugins. What plugins do you have enabled? Adding plugins without any regard for their impact is another likely cause. Do you have any cache plugin installed?

Memory isnt the issue, its CPU. Searches generally cripple servers. Have you asked for the mysql slow log? The host generally gives you examples of queries that are causing the problem.

500 UV SHared hosting still okey but VPS OVER with 500UV that not logic meybe some plugin from your site or you have cronjob

My site 1k UV still okey under shared hosting no problem ..meybe you must optimise your site special for plugin

Better change host else then optimizing it

Nginx will be your solution for low load.
My VPS have 512 Ram with 1 core @ 3.16, Debian 6 x64. without control panel, all is configured manual, without bind. i use http://dns.he.net for dns.

Try to block some stupid crawlers, like Baidu.
