    Default No music 2 weeks, motherboard no sound.

    Motherboard:
    MSI K8MM-V

    I have downloaded the official windows xp drivers, but still dont have sound.
    I have tryed it on ubuntu & kubuntu but still no sound.

    What can be the problem?
    Im so sad i havnt listened to music in 2 weeks now

    Go to your device manager to find your audio device, then try to google the audio driver for it.

    enable the onboard soundcard in the bios.

    1st. Its doesnt help bro, it only shows the current driver.
    jayfella, more info? I will try to do what u say. If i have that option i hope i do... Back with edit in 10 minutes...

    I only hade AC97 Controller Enable Disable in BIOS, i have tryed with disable and enable, none worked

    its a MSI board, you can go here, http://www.msi.com/service/download/ , it will scan and download all board drivers

    1. never trust onboard shit.
    2. buy a soundcard to go into a PCI slot

    you can actually get cheap $15 USB soundcards now that do exactly the same job, just a little more CPU intensive, if at all.

    I used tv to try and help him. Used Driver Genius to check for out-of-date drivers etc etc etc... Nothing worked
