Default Adsense CTR going down step by step

I'm just wondering if it's odd what's going on at one of my sites or if other people are sometimes experiencing the same things.

Last wednesday I changed my ads in an attempt to crank up my Adsense CTR from 300x250 to 336x280 rectangles.

The first 2 days after the change my ads CTR were great: a steady increase of 0,5%!

Since then my CTR has been going down heavily, along with the CPC. Today only one (1!) person has clicked an ad worth 0,01 cents!

What's going on? Is this normal? Is this like an adapting period? Or should I be worried and change my ads back to the old way?

The homepage only has a leaderboard, which doesn't give much revenue anyway, but in the posts I have two rectangles, above and below the post.

Anyway, smaller rectangles seem to give more revenue > more stable anyway.

You must have messed up with the adplacement. Fix your ads. On which of the site you are facing this issue again?

People still click ads now a days?

If you get a lot of traffic I suggest you go with CPM. I think adsense is only good for certain niches which have good paying keywords, etc

If you have a low paying keyword niche it might even take you 250-1000 clicks a day to achieve at least 50$ a day.

I say add one 300x250 AD BOX in the right sidebar. Ill say under the search bar.

I dont think your site is good for adsense is googles eyes due to the fact that you are offering downloads for apps that arent free

Well, I changed everything back to the way it was and actually it's going pretty good.

I noticed, however, that as my CTR is going up, my CPC goes down. I see that a lot of people are experiencing this as I browsed the web.

Does anyone have an explanation for this?
