When I click on a category on the top menu item, it doesn't stay highlighted in red. can someone help me doing this?

You need to add in your CSS file this piece of code:

.current-menu-item a{
      color: #CD1713;}

This is not the best way to do that, but it's the easier and should solve the problem.
