linux best to customize

what would you say is the best/easiest to customize between ubuntu or opensuse
and which can you make look the best as im wanting to create a cool desktop and i know linux is good for that sort of stuff

Personally I prefer OpenSUSE ( KDE). I know Ubuntu also has KDE but... It just doesn't feel right lol

Beryl+Emerald+Compiz+Awant or cairo doc..
