Rapiddrive is currently the best backup available, mediafire expressesly states its services are not meant for data warehousing.

Dropbox. It's perfectly legal and much safer than storing your files on file sharing hosts. They don't delete your files after a certain duration of time. You'll find Dropbox much easier to use too, just drag and drop your files in the Dropbox folder in your computer and it syncs with your Dropbox account on the cloud.

Mediafire. They are cheaper than RS, have a more user friendly design, and they have big corporate customers so they won't shut be down.

I would like to follow up and say, you should try MegaCloud.com instead. More space, efficient back up (8 + 8GB), better functions, sharing opportunities are available, streaming of your own media on your mobile devices is a function not seen by others. Get with the newest technology for Cloud Storage.

    RapidShare.

I guess MediaFire scans users' files or monitors download activities of files.
Even an account without sharing files also got banned in recent months.
Read old threads and you can see some people who have the same experience.

1fichier.com also looking good for backup.

    They are cheaper then RS.
    - 6 months premium cost only 13 euros.
    - Unlimited space,
    - max file size 20gb,
    - FTP,remote upload,
    - Happy Hours 2h - 8h CEST
    - Links protection (password, user ID, IP, country)
    and more.

Good and cheap alternative for RS and MF.

why I prefer rapid, you can remote to anyhost from rapidshare
if you decide to move any other host.

Do you know rapid has unlimited time keep files for premium
    or 90 days
