I have accounts with both offshoregod.com and my365host.com

I used to make database web applications while being hosted on Hostgator and could access my database by Remote SQL without problems.

But I found out that the hosts above do not open port 3306 making it useless for database applications.

Of course, I can use my localhost and dump on every update, but that's too much hassle for larger databases and frequent updates.

Anyone has (or know) an offshore host who allows Remote SQL?

To be honest, I don't understand, in Cpanel is a feature where you can limit access to certain hosts. Why do hosts block their 3306 port? And there are more and more Remote Access apps (like HeidiSQL) released.
