The load pretty much seems to be under control.

Another factor which was causing high server load was the wordpress remote posting. But even it got taken care of and I'm very much delighted by it.

For others who are facing a similar problem must surely try the mysqltuner as mentioned by Sp32.

I'm still monitoring the load by trying different things, if something shoots up the load will come back here.
