    screencaps, just copy coordinates and put them in maps.google.com

    Without a doubt, the best thing that ever happened to crop circles is Google Earth. This circle in the desert just outside Beatty, Nevada (Google Earth coordinates 37.401437,-116.86773), is one of hundreds spotted with the software.



    When all the satellite pics are stitched together to allow users to pan continuously in mapping programs, there are frequently some funky effects which can happen at transition edges. One common phenomenon is when two pics taken at different angles are spliced together, causing tall buildings and other structures to appear to be leaning sharply. This is called the “Escher Effect,” and this sample comes from downtown Dallas:

    This more likely looks like Airplane Graveyard but in really, it is a e Davis-Monthan Air Force Base outside Tuscon, Ariz where more than 4,000 military aircraft and planes are parked on the base. 32 08'59.96" N 110 50'09.03"W
