If you get a vps you would need to get a windows vps if you want things to be simple as Linux vps require you to install VNC and the Desktop Gnome, whereas windows has this included so I would either go for rdp or windows vps if you want it simple.

How cheap are you talking about there?

debian os has gnome built in and just install nxmachine deb files even better then vnc works like a charm and you have copy and paste too
