    Default Good headphones under $200.

What are your guy's suggestions of a good pair of headphones under $200? I'm looking for performance along with a somewhat stylish pair. I listen to basically everything with more of an emphasis on rap. I'm trying my best not to shell out money for Dre Beats just because most have said that it is overpriced for what you're getting and that they are not very durable.

    Thanks in advance!

I would definitely go with the KRK's with your budget. I own Rokit 8 studio monitors, and I've had them since 2006. They''re products last a lifetime. Not that stylish but worth every penny. JmZ and Phamous would also know about a good set of phones. I been recording music all my life but they're music critics also. If not the KRK's, the HE-500's

Sennheiser, Sennheiser, Sennheiser and ummm...oh yeah... Sennheiser
You would be blasted out of your sox to hear quality they produce with cheap pair of headphones.
Not to mention something in mid or pro level.
You simply don't compare them with anything.
Durability? 50$ pair survived for 4 years without scratch 3 and 4 year old hyperactive kids. Dropping, kicking, sitting, standing on them, cable run over with chair trillions of times...and they're plastic

I wouldn't buy Razer Brand for just listening to music.

    Sennheiser or AudioTechnica.

If you want good sound quality and you buy anything other than these, you likely know nothing about audio equipment.

True, there are some brands which come close, but nothing beats these two, not even the likes of BOSE or similar.

Also a pro tip, if you want good headphones, NEVER buy ones with a built in mic (aka a headset), they *always* have far lower audio quality, even the senns.

Note: these are my current headphones:

P.S. take care when choosing open or closed headphones, mine are open (as seen above).

Open = clearer overall, people around you can easily hear the music, sounds more "natural" as if you're listening through speakers.

Closed = not as clear, much heavier bass, cannot be heard by people around you, sounds as if the origin of the music is in your head rather than around you.

Oh and if any of you ever buy a pair of high end headphones, say $300+, then hook them up to your PC, you should be slapped. At that price, they are designed to be used with an amp, not connected directly to your PC.

Sony is used by many producers and DJ's. Heard some good things about them.

Don't go for Monster Beats, as they are overpriced and the quality is lower than the ones suggested.
