    Default bit rate help

    Hi,

I have few mp3/wav files which has (64-128 kbps) bit rate with around 50 mb size. anyone can suggest me a good converter to change bit rate to (8-16 kbps) and out put file should be .mp3.
Not songs, those clips are voice record of some lectures. so im not looking much quality. i want to reduce the file size as much as i can

Tried more than 10 free tools. all doesn't support mp3/wav both..
Please suggest me a good converter. if freeware would be awesome

    Thanks

AVC support only for video files. can't add audio files to convert.

you could have tried wavepad too. You can drag ANY audio/video file into it and it'll convert it to a workable format, so you can then save as whatever you like. It downloads whatever it needs to use on the fly as you introduce new formats, then saves them to be used in the program whenever needed.

I've used it for years if I want to grab a quote from a film/episode or when I want an audio rip of comedy dvds etc. Really useful app
