twilight.ws ddlrank.comThe admins / members of their staff team has not commented on this matter. The scenetorrents group on facebook also has no admins left. I really think this is the end for them. I hope the owners are not facing problems or w/e.
BREIN took their primary source down, that's a bummer in my opinion.
We will know more tomorrow at 10AM.I can always be contacted by sending a tweet @twilightws

Mininova died, people switch to tpb, kickasstorrents (I predict that one a great future), isohunt, etc ...
ScT died, people switch to TL, SCC ...
What's the big deal?
The Coon: 100 MB/s and 100 mbps isn't the same100 MB/s is reachable with well seeded torrents, two SSD disks in raid 0 and 1 gbps line. That's not really what most leechers on ScT have.
And actually, there are reasons to switch from torrents to file hosts:
+ comfort ~ paste links into jdownloader, hell that thing even unrars the stuff
+ no ratio ~ might be difficult to maintain it with asymmetric home slowline
+ SECURITY ~ your IP is not (semi)publicly available to everybody who connects to the same torrent as you
Cons:
- costs money
- oh yeah, you won't get it 2 minutes after pre, but will need to wait additional 10

SceneTorrents.The.Final.Notice-ScT
By now most of you already know that ScT will be going offline permanently.
However, due to pending legal issues, we are not at liberty to speak freely about why we've chosen to take down the site.
Members of our staff were arrested and will be undergoing the entire length of the judicial process.
Obviously, in the case of criminal proceedings, it would be downright foolish to comment any further on the situation;
Please bear this in mind and wish them the best of luck.
There have been several theories as to where the donation money (of the recent months) has gone. We'd like to take this opportunity to put all skepticism to rest.
The money was used to purchase new hardware that would ensure our spot as the fastest tracker on the net.
You are free to perform whatever calculations you feel necessary, but in doing so it should become very clear that running a site of this stature costs money.
We feel the overwhelming cynicism is just a product of bad timing compounded with general frustration caused by the current situation.
We sincerely hope that you've enjoyed being a part of our wonderful community over the past 4 1/2 years.
We've certainly enjoyed our members letting us be of service. We've always felt our user base played an equally important role in making SceneTorrents.org a model environment in the torrent world.
The staff would also like to express their gratitude to fellow trackers for their support in such a chaotic time. Several well known communities have voluntarily opened their doors, and have offered our former users a new home.
We appreciate the courtesy and acknowledge the steps being taken to move forward collectively as a community. Your assistance does not go unrecognized.

Well yeah, I meant 100MB/s actually. I don't know, but most leechers at ScT definately downloaded hella fast
. Also notice their image, seeding CoD MW2 with 198MB/s
Anyway, filehosts are just.. annoying. Sometimes I try to download a tv show.. I get 30 dead links first before a working one, and then have the bad luck of being on a slow rapidshare server and download with 300kb/s. Waste of my fast internet line at home.. (plus the 8 euros). Torrents (or usenet, but I dislike the fast file deleting which results in incomplete downloads) simply rule. You see before downloading the torrent how many seeds there are (for public torrents) thus you can 'guess' if the torrent's gonna be fast or not. And it's 100% free and no bw limits. You're not gonna get busted for downloading a few movies (about the IP viewable in public part).

This is 2nd or 3rd torrent site going down in the last few weeks.
IMO? warez forums won't die. Why? Well, if you don't have illegal stuff on your server, they can't do anything. Warez linking is allowed (almost) everywhere.
Torrents are hosted on servers, that's why they die.
The next will be Rapidshare.

^ yes, but they are hosting terabytes of illegal files on their servers nonetheless.
Life asked Death: "Why do people love me, but hate you?"
Death responded: "Because you're a beautiful lie and I'm the painful truth."
