depends what ur trying to do make a login? or deny all ip's

If you have IPB, go to security center and choose IPB ACP .htaccess Protection ==> learn more, it will open new window after that tells you what password and user name you need, remember you must have the ACP directory Chmoded 777 after the doing this you can return it back to 755.

1. Choose Basic authentication
2. Make two text files and rename them to .htpasswd & .htaccess
3. Paste the created code on that site, the first code belong to .htpasswd and the second to .htaccess
4. put them in the directory which you made these for.

Remember: the URL needed there is the URL of the ftp not HTTP URL.
