Ok for my Mp3 site, I have 3 different options I can have for seo and the urls.

Which one is the best for seo and search engines?

Type 1 ........ http://www.yoursite.com/id-article_name.html
Type 2 ........ http://www.yoursite.com/category/sub...icle_name.html
Type 3 ........ http://www.yoursite.com/2008/04/02/article_name.html

Out of that list I'd go with 1 as it has fewer characters and the keywords (article name) are nearer the front but it depends on the categories

Personally to me the perfect types of urls are directory style

Take this for instance:

http://www.yoursite.com/2008/
This will bring back all items with data range 2008 and >

http://www.yoursite.com/2008/04/
and the same as above but a lil more narrower.

if you keep the diretory structure so the urls follow in a depth like mode i think this is the best

This is how i see SEO urls and it might not be perfect but its clean, looks good, and lot of big sites use this type of seo so it cant be bad!
