Default Looking for webmasters to chime in..

Being admin on a few sites, recently having the privilege of being the go-to guy for Gismo on one of his..I've started noticing an age-old thing that didn't bother me near as much until now, when I'm having to do submits....and it's something I'm sure many sites are plagued with and would like to ask for some tips from other webmasters who have battled with it..

    STINKING BOTS.

I don't see posting bots as a problem..but the ones that are joining 20 sites, and posting multiples on each one..well that would be a problem. Those may likely be submitted to Katz, and it winds up being a waste of time for the webmasters doing submits when they don't know how to pick out the bots, from regular members.

Some members can use bots efficiently and I applaud that...IF they use them properly. But I see quite a few that I'm dealing with, and I'm sure others here have seen them too..so what is key in spotting a bot?

I also noticed the most recent Katz rules are causing these posting-bots to give me posts that include another sites name in the host URL's.

Meaning, they are posting them correctly on this-site.com, but then they come to us, and they post LimewirePro3.4.0.this-site.com.rar instead of our site's name (thankfully it isn't our uploader team doing this)...

Wondering if any of you webmasters have any tricks to catch these abusive bots before they fill up a single section with repeat posts of their junk..

Automation in warez sucks to be honest.

Most of the new generation of webmasters are lazy and usually haven't a clue about anything, just here for a quick dollar.

I say most of course because there are a select few who work very hard and those are the ones who will succeed.

Anyway, just though i'd add that although it is slightly offtopic.

I can't say anything about a quick dollar....I do it and we don't do any click-thru advertising or sell anything like spots on the site..I do this strictly because I want to devote the time to it. Nothing else...and I wouldn't want anything in return for my time..I enjoy helping out.(altho I did get us banned accidentally from Katz yesterday..STUPID connection problems!!)

I added you to my MSN..

    Thanks for the help!
